LAVA on Inside/Out

The Inside/Out stage is by far my favorite spot at the Pillow. This summer there haven’t been many performances outside, due to rain. But yesterday’s weather was what the summer in the Berkshires is all about.

Sarah East Johnson’s LAVA really scored with their energetic, high intensity performance. The crowd loved it.

Les Grands @ Le Pillow

Les Grands Ballets Canadien de Montreal (affectionately known as “Les Grands”) is performing on the Ted Shawn stage this week at the Pillow. I shot dress rehearsal yesterday afternoon with Pillow Intern Karli Cadel. They did two pieces by Italian choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti. Both were stunning. It’s tough to look bad when the dancers all look so good. Beautiful bodies, gorgeous dancing!

Tammy Golson Events

This past weekend Tammy Golson asked me to make pictures of the bridal shower she designed. The party was on the rooftop of a great Upper West Side apartment building. It was sunny and gorgeous. Here are a couple of neat shots:

Family Photo Party

Jill, Jon and I were great friends in college. But after school we lost touch. This January I found Jill and Jon on Facebook. How cool to reconnect after so many years! I was thrilled to see them.

When we got together Jill asked if I would do a Photo Party at her house. I had never heard of such a thing. She said. “I’ll organize it and bring 10 or 15 families to my house and you make family portraits for everybody.” Wow! What a great idea!

So this past Sunday Jill had a dozen or so families all scheduled out and ready for their family portraits. It was so much fun for me and for everyone and we made some pretty awesome pictures.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Em & Walt – Engagement

Last week Em, Walt and I had fun shooting their engagement photos. The wedding is going to be at the Bowery Hotel, so we did a shoot in the space and then headed out to the street of the East Village. Sweet!
