Happy Birthday to me!

Today is one of my favorite days of the whole year, my birthday. I’m a Capricorn and I have a bunch of Capricorn friends. Last night we got together for our 6th Annual Capricorn Sushi Hoe-Down! We haven’t done sushi since the first year, and it wasn’t much of a hoe-down. Just a sweet bunch of Caps hanging out celebrating our birthdays. Thanks guys!

Sarah & Michael

Last Sunday was Sarah and Michael’s wedding here in Manhattan and my last wedding of 2007. It was a real local wedding for me. I met them at their place on 72nd and Central Park West, the ceremony was across the Park at the Holy Trinity Church and the reception was in between at The Boat House in Central Park. When it was over, I walked halfway home. How cool is that?

Sarah, Michael and all of the friends and family were just great. The ceremony at Holy Trinity was gorgeous. I had never photographed a Greek ceremony in a Greek church before. All of the details of the ceremony were so precise and carried out with great care and joy. I loved being witness to it all.

The Boat House was decorated in the spirit of the season with classy evergreen and red flowers. We were hoping for a little snow fall, all we got was a rain sprinkle. But a good time was had by all.

Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

The unmistakable little blue box.

Sarah had lots of help getting ready.

Sarah sees Michael for the first time.

The had the coolest car drive them around town. Check out this 1969 checkered cab! They had heads turning everywhere.

I even made a few new friends!

Blessings to you, Sarah and Michael!! And congratulations to all the brides and grooms we worked with in 2007. It was a great year for everyone!

Wishing you all a fabulous New Year, filled with divine inspiration, creative adventures, profound love and prosperity beyond expectations.

Midnight Engagement – Central Park

Sunday I photographed Sarah and Michael’s wedding here in Manhattan. The reception was in Central Park at the Boat House. It was a great day, so much fun and I was tired at the end! It must have been about midnight when I left.

The rain had stopped so I walked out of the Boat House and headed towards the West Side. The Park was quiet and empty. Just hours before when we were making photographs of the couple and the family, we had attracted a crowd of onlookers and here it was close to midnight and there was not a single person anywhere.

I was crossing the bridge above the Bethesda fountain and I came upon a couple. “Would you take our photo?” the woman said as she held out her pocket camera. “We just got engaged!” The both of them were overflowing with happiness an smiles. I took the picture with their camera and then put my bags down and got out mine. How could I resist?!

I was so surprised and delighted I didn’t even ask them their names. I handed them my card and said “Email me and I’ll send you the pictures.”

Congratulations to the midnight mystery couple! Email me and I’ll send you your pictures. :)
