More family fun

I spent an hour in the Park on Monday afternoon with this little guy and his parents, our good friends Mary and Gary. How cute is their son?! We had a great time sharing his first NYC pretzel and enjoying the the beautiful fall colors.

Kristin & Clint

I have to say, of all the weddings I photographed this year, this was the most spirited one. Kristin and her bridesmaids were ready to rock from the moment Donnie and I stepped in the door. The were hootin’ and hollerin’, Kristin’s cousin was calling out from the Karaoke machine, they all made the day so much fun and full of laughter. It was pure joy photographing Kristin and Clint’s wedding day. Even Donnie, who is primarily a fashion photographer, was ready to switch to shooting wedding full time.

Thanks you guys for making it easy to mix fun and work!

VII Workshop

A couple of weeks ago I took a workshop with two world class photojournalists from the VII Photo Agency: Antonin Kratochvill and Ron Haviv. It was quite a charge just to be in the room with these two amazing photographers. The assignment was to do a photo story throughout the week and every day come back to the meeting place for editing and critique. There were photographers there from all over the world. Only a couple of us were New Yorkers.

I followed NY Teaching Fellow Leah Fox for two days. Leah teaches dance at a public elementary school in upper Manhattan. I was instructed to use one camera with one lens and to bring 20 images back to the office every day. The workshop really pushed me to engage more closely with my subject, keep shooting despite not being sure where the story is going and to deconstruct, carving into smaller bits. Here are just a few of the hundreds of images I made.

Engagement Photo Day!

At long last, here are some of the images from our Fall Engagement Photo Day. The weather was perfect, everyone was so much fun and we made some terric pictures together. Here is a sampling of who was there. You’ll notice we had a few non-engaged party crashers who joined in the fun!

Handsome Little Guy

My friend Ken asked me to make some pictures of his son and his family a week or so ago. I hadn’t yet met his son, but I knew he had his first birthday. He was SUPER cute!! We had a ball spending an hour making photos in the park.

I couldn’t take my eyes off this little guy as he made his way back and forth down the bench taking a few steps at a time. It was pure joy.
